The purpose of the The Flow of the Big Spring is to preserve history-farm history, family history, and community history. But more importantly, our hope is that this book will also serve as a monument of gratitude for the spiritual heritage we have been handed — a testament to those who have labored diligently” to seek of [God] a right way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance” (Ezra 8:21). In addition, our hope is that this book produces a better understanding of and appreciation for the spiritual and religious values of the Mennonite Church of yesteryear.
